Gusto pricing in 2026 — real plan costs
Gusto prices as a base fee plus a per-person fee. Here are the current numbers from gusto.com — and the promo that makes one plan look free.

So a 10-person business on Simple is about $49 + (10 × $6) = $109/month, not $49. The per-person fee is where the real cost lives, and it's what quick quotes tend to leave out.
The fifth plan most roundups miss: Gusto Solo
Gusto's pricing page has two tabs — "Pay My Team" (the four plans above) and "Pay Myself." That second tab carries a plan most pricing articles never mention: Solo — $49/month + $6/person, built for solopreneurs who pay themselves an S-corp salary (it bundles S-corp compliance support and a reasonable-salary calculator). Same $49 base as Simple, different purpose. If you have owner-operator or S-corp clients, that's the plan to point them at — and it's easy to miss because it lives one tab over.
